Quality, resolution and weight

JPG quality controls the trade-off between detail and weight. The resolution is expressed as multiple of 72 dpi: 1× is 72 dpi, 1.5× is 108 dpi and 2× is 144 dpi. a scale larger generates larger and sharper images, but also heavier and more power-consuming. memory. The background is painted white before encoding because the JPG format does not support transparency.

ZIP and downloads

If the PDF has a single page, a single JPG file is downloaded. If it has several, it is generated a ZIP without additional compression with one JPG per page. The JPGs are already compressed, so recompressing the ZIP would barely save any space. Names include the name of the PDF and the page number.

Limits and memory

A maximum of 80 pages per operation and 25 MB of data are processed. entrance. Each page is drawn on a temporary canvas and released when finished. If a page is huge, the tool automatically reduces the scale so as not to exceed the pixel limit and indicates it in the progress. On mobile phones with little memory, convert long documents into several operations.

What is preserved and what is not

The JPG reproduces the rendered appearance of the page: text, images and most of the visible annotations. No links, form fields, interactive layers, or text are preserved selectable. This tool does not do OCR: a scanned PDF produces images, not text editable. Very complex PDFs may render differently than a viewer professional.

Privacy and protected documents

The PDF is loaded into memory and rendered with PDF.js and canvas in your browser. Not sent to a server. If the document is password protected, a clear error is displayed and no try to decipher. Corrupt files are also rejected.

Browser Compatibility

Works on current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari with 2D canvas, File, Blob and JavaScript modules. PDF.js and its resources (standard fonts, CMaps and WASM decoders) are served from this same site, without CDN. The speed depends on browser and the size of the pages.

Frequently asked questions

Can I choose only some pages?

This version converts all PDF pages, up to the indicated limit. If you need only a part, you can first extract the pages with Split PDF and then convert that result.

Why is a ZIP downloaded?

Because a multi-page PDF produces several JPGs and the browser should not open dozens of downloads at the same time. The ZIP contains all the images with numbered names.

Can the JPG text be selected?

No. A JPG is an image. To keep selectable text you need the original PDF or an external OCR process that this tool does not offer.

What happens with a protected PDF?

An error is detected and displayed. It is not decrypted or sent to any service. Remove the password with the original application and try again.

Are the images uploaded to the server?

No. The conversion is done in your browser. The server only delivers the page and the necessary libraries.
